Macau Cultural Centre

Seeming to rise from the Outer Harbour like a giant wave, the Cultural Centre is one of Macau's most poppular new landmarks. Beneath its soaring roof it contains a 1,200-seat Grand Auditorium for major musical and theatrical events, and a Small Auditorium for chamber concert, films and meetings. In the adjoining building is the Museum of Art with permanent collections of China Coast paintings by George Chinnery, Smirnoff, Borget and other 19th century artists; traditional Chinese paintings, Shiwan ceramics and calligraphy as well as special exhibitions on a wide range of subjects. The Cultural Centre is a prime venue for annual events like the Music and Arts Festivals
